HAHA... some of the responses are hilarious. This car is a masterpiece. From the exhaust headers to the suspension setup. Definitely a race-ready monster. I can't get enough of the signature 4 exit exhaust!

It's also amazing how different it sounds from an AMG Benz, even though the engines are coming out of the same factory. A Zonda sounds like a high revving exotic, an AMG Benz sounds meaner than 1960's American muscle.

The Zonda uses a normally aspirated V12 that originally powered the SL600 of the early 90s. Later versions of the Zonda used the engine from the extremely rare SL73 AMG. These big normally aspirated V12s have not been used in Mercedes production models since 1995.

I believe Pagani has a deal for the AMG twin-turbo V12 to power its Zonda replacement. In the SL65 Black this motor makes 661hp and 738lb-ft. Can you imagine what it will do in a car weighing 1,500lb less?

Pagani says "This Zonda is purpose made for track use, without restrictions of any competition rules or homologation..." So it's not intended for anything ACO, FIA, or whatever.

Still, an awesome car in pretty much every way.

If you remember back, the McLaren F1 was also designed without any influence of competition rules. It was only when owners pushed McLaren for support did the F1 become a race car and win Le Mans first time out.

Wow, "without restrictions" indeed.
I'm not quite sure I'm feeling the front bulged fenders though.
Looks like a cheap add-on fender lip, but I'm sure there's a reason why they built it like that.

pagoni zonda has been and will always be my favorite, unaffordable supercar.

I'm not sure I like that version though. but i have to admit, definitely a work of engineering.
