Z06 vs. GT3

Z06 vs. GT3
Another great review by Savagegeese. Love both cars but I still want the 992 GT3 more than any modern car.

Set a personal record for longest watched Youtube video from beginning to end. 44 minutes.
Loved the video obviously and love both cars. For some reason, the weight of the Z06 and how hard that pro driver had to be working his hands to extract full performance out of it left me a little wanting. Despite the price difference, I find myself gravitating more to the 992 GT3. It just feels more "pure."
Since my C6 ZR1, I haven't loved any Corvette that has come after it hence why I've never gotten rid of it. Maybe the C8 ZR1 or Zora might convince me, but those will be even heavier than the Z06, but with a lot more horsepower....Diminishing returns maybe..

I'd rather have a GT4 RS, or an older 997/991 911. The 992s' styling, well...

I'd still take any 911 with a stick over either car in this comparison. And if both had it, I would still go Porsche just because of the refinement and build quality. The Corvette though, it is one helluva bargain for how much it delivers and an incredible car.

I do really like the GT4RS also but the double wishbone front has me sold on the 992. Everyone really raves about the feeling of it. In the past, I did not care too much about double wishbone and thought most of it was just buzzwords that journalists and keyboard warriors throw around. After driving a few strut front cars (One of them a well setup 987 Cayman) and going back to my S, I really appreciate the way I can load the front end of my car. I don't know what else to attribute it to. 992 GT3 seems like it's going to be peak NA ICE Porsche. The engine is amazing and what they're doing with the 4.0 flat 6 is amazing. The times it puts down seem to be much better than the HP/Torque numbers would suggest too. The visibility out of the front seems to be so much better than the Vette too.
Also, I can't buy any of these cars so it's pure dreaming on my end. Pricing isn't material to me for that reason. If it were my actual wallet, I'd have to take a hard look at the z06. That engine is pretty impressive. If Chevy makes enough z06's to depreciate them, I could be a future buyer. I'm not even going to dream that 992 GT3's will depreciate out of the 6 figure range, if at all.

I'll take a GT3 Touring simply because of the more analog experience, lighterweight, and usability. And I love vettes.

I love both cars. I'd def take the GT3 @ MSRP. But I'm not dealing with the nonsense of buying any new Porsche.
Have my C8 Z06 & ZR1 allocation @ msrp. Happy with that.

Love both, but I think I’d take an Emira over either at about ~half the (street) price. Better looking than either and I’m sure more than enough real world performance for me. I just can’t get excited about cars that basically have become unobtanium due to markups and waitlists/dealer games.
