Z06 vs. 996 Turbo S

Yeah, seems like a pretty fair review on both sides. Turbo engine's characteristics are very different than the linearity of NA engines. Especially with the K24 turbos of the Turbo S (versus smaller K16's on the "regular" turbo). Have an aftermarket with a chip change that can make the 911 Turbo S boost more linear (boost comes on more progressively), not to mention more hp.
Will like to see the new writeups of the Z06 vs. upcoming 997 TT.

Very well written. Glad you posted that.
I like the bit about how we shouldn't bash other manufacturers. Such as GM lack of interior finesse etc... Toyota only makes boring cars, but if they wanted to make a sports car they could as well as Porsche or GM. Look at the LS460 which will be out this year. IMO it will be as good or better than BMW/MB/Audi sedans in many ways.
I'd seriously like either car. However every post I read about a Z06 involves 0-150 runs on public roads. Or 0-90 in 2nd gear etc. My question is if I want/need to be exposing myself to that risk. I know it's fun, but it's like playing Russian Roulette somebody is going to get burned.

Rai,
Just because a car has the performance potential to do dangerous things, doesn't you mean that you have to it. Driving a C6Z around is akin to driving a Abrams tank through the Civil War. It's just cool to know you can wipe 99.9% of the cars on the road IF NEEDED. It's that sense of ability and power that makes the car fun to drive around even if you only rarely exploit that power.

Those are pretty great reviews. This is pretty much just what everyone was looking for as far as a no-BS comparison between two legendary sports cars. I'd take either one in a heartbeat, and couldn't even be asked to choose between the two.
PS - What kind of wristwatch was each driver wearing?
