Z06 move over...911 twin turbo move over...
I think I sh@$ my pants when i saw this bad boy.
For all of you who haven't seen the factory 5 racing coupe.. in kit form minus engine and drivetrain 15,000 dollars or so.
I think this will be the next vehicle that i purchase a few years down the road... screw practical.. i want this beast...
With a 351 windsor engine (stroker i believe) at a cost of maybe 8000 for a crate mtr....
400+ hp
0-60 3.6 seconds
1/4 in 11.9 seconds
1.04-1.1 g's !!!!!!!
This thing would be a beast on a road course.

I have a friend here in Calgary that is the western Canada distributor for Factory Five Racing stuff ^__^ He actually drives a FF5 Cobra, and let me tell you, those cobras MOVE... 0-60 in under 5 seconds. CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY. The coupe there is even faster, and all it needs is a used Mustang 5.0 engine

Factory Five Cobras, from what I have experienced (3 hour passenger ride, 30 minutes in the drivers seat) are solidly built at the frame level, and the body depends on how you build it, but they seem very stable and very solid. There is slight tail dive on hard acceleration, but they corner very solidly, with a small amount of body roll. The tail is slideable if you use the throttle power oversteer (I found this out the hard way in a parking lot (empty of course))
As for the coupe, I have no experience with it.

Steve why do you call it hacked up? What are the advantages of the superperformance setup over the FF coupe
What is the price of the one you are waiting for.

The only parts of a Mustang 5.0 in the FF Coupe is the engine, wiring harness and possibly tranny, but you can get a porsche transaxle as an option. Everything else is built in-factory by Factory Five. Superperformance uses another car "hacked up" as well, but I would go for quality and safety, meaning I would choose Factory Five.

That's what i'm saying. Using the wiring harness, engine, and transmission from a 5.0 seems to be a very reliable and most importantly matched (ie designed to work together) package. While it won't be as fast as the one pictured above there is a plethora of go fast goodies for that engine.
