Wow sounds like you had a really good experience with your R32. I've been thinking about getting one. I have a 1.8T GTI right now, and have always wanted the R32 for obvious reasons, save the gas mileage. Would you consider picking up a used A4 R32? Have you driven the new one?
I have driven quite a few cars and the GTI is one of a very few that seem to be as fun as the S2k!

I miss my '04 WRX. It was an excellent daily driver, and so much more entertaining than the '07 Accord I have now. Sometimes I think that maybe I should've just kept it.

This is my first post on this site, HEY GUYS!
Got this car when I was 17. Became a SUBIE FREAK, I know dam near EVERYTHING about Subarus besides engine internals. Got 2nd Place in it's class at the SubieFest car show.
Built it up to 210 AWHP and started auto-xing
Stomps on evos and STIs all day because it weighs over 600 lbs less
Parting it out right now because it has been a bitch to daily drive, but it is going to pay off my 04 S2K I just bought.
Before this car I had a 2003 lancer for like one year when i turned 16.
I'm 19 now FYI
(and writing this has made me miss it more then ever even tho it's just in the garage dead)

i actually had two 1.8t gtis before i went to the s2000. now my time with the s2k is done and I put it up for sale because i got a new car! 2008 R32!!!
i miss my gtis. hell i already miss my s2000 and its still in the garage. nothing like that rwd convertible configuration that the s2000 has. its just great.
i love my new r32 though, its so much better for an all around everyday driver.... and I can still have plenty of fun. it is a bit heavy though, but hey its a vw. vws are heavy!
thats funny that the op originally had the R32 first and then the S2000.
new car: sorry only pic i have thats legit right now. has intake and exhaust already!

Even with light mods that make them more fun to drive in every way, it still behaved perfectly as a DD, including gas mileage, ride quality, build quality was a little suspect, but for the price at the time they were/are hard cars to beat in terms of value vs. daily features. Winter driving was perfect so long as you kept it out of boost.
On the topic of fd's, I didn't own one, however I spent alot of time around one, as a good pal of mine owned a lightly modded montego blue with gunmetal model 7's. Still the most beautiful car to come out of Japan, it purrs llike nothing else, and is an absolute blast to drive/ride in/look at/smell/hump..... you get the point. Its a shame you don't see many around.

Yes I miss the attention it attracts on the streets.
No I don't miss this car's performance at all. It does not corner well, in fact, it's sh!te in that perspective.
