I thought we could have a friendly discussions on the soul of a car. So which engine impresses you the most? Don't choose an engine just because of power. Try to put in other factors such as the engineering put into the engine or an unique feature that makes it special. Or maybe even gas mileage, reliability etc.

Ok I'll go first:

For NA: The F20C gets my praises. 9000 rpm with 120hp/litre. An engineering marvel.

Honda's K-series is also looking good in the NA department. Hytech has tuned a 10000 rpm monster making 160 hp/litre.

For FI: 2JZ-GTE hands down. No explaination really needed

Praises also go out to the S54, though in the past there were some issues with the engine.

Next to my F20C, I would have to say a 426 Hemi.

I'm not a fan of Chrysler but the power made by the elephant motor earns my respect.

The BMW V12 in the McLaren F1. Even after all these years it's still an amazing engine.
