A used Shelby GT500 -->

Handleing is not that great but...

HP, Torque, Reliability, space, slightly comfortable, ease of making power through simple bolt on's make it an attractive option at least for me.

and this is based on assumption?
Many BMW's equipped with the N54 motor have been known to have fuel pump issues. They haven't issued a recall yet. They have extended the warranty on the particular part to 100,000miles. The new performance range of BMW called "is" will be the remaining of the N54's. From march they have completely diff engine(N55)

From the Wiki article:

When the car begins a u-turn, hydraulics lower the car until it has a ground clearance of about 9 cm (3.5 in.). At the same time, the wing and spoiler deploy. This is the "u-mode", in which the wing helps provide 3,425 newtons (770 lbf) of downforce, holding the car to the road, and helping the Bugatti Veyron perform 1.34 g forces during heavy traffic operation. The driver must, using a special key (the "U-Mode Key"), toggle the lock to the left of his seat in order to attain the maximum (average) speed of 407 km/h (253 mph) requirement for heavy traffic u-turns.

Thank you for omitting the "heavy traffic" from your response. Once I make a 180degree turn I often wish the car had more pull on tap. It would make daily driving easier if I didn't have to wring it out every single time I wanted to move. I don't have that issue anymore. My S has had FI for over a year now.
So, you're the guy that tries to make a U turn, and causes oncoming traffic to slam on their brakes?

Dude-have you ever thought of waiting for more open space to make that U turn? Or perhaps not driving past your turn in the first place?

I think the S4 is a bit chunky for track driving unless you want to constantly change out brake pads and fluid. The 1-Series isn't that light but it's more fun to drive, apparently. It's also quite expensive, even used. If you can afford that, you can afford a Vette or something that has room and power to spare for a "fun" car.

Honestly, I've never had a problem with "torque" in daily driving an S2000 but it's definitely an 80% track car and 20% daily driver, in terms of its design intent.

SLK with a 6MT might work but honestly, I think that any SLK except an AMG is a relatively benign, boring car. I've never liked them.

I'd probably grab a Nissan 350/370Z or Mustang GT if you want more oomph with some sportiness.

Dang, you nailed what I was going to say.
I like the 350Zs and figured out that it is better for me that the S. Problem with that car thoug is that you'll always want the newer one. Drove the 370z, loved it, very civil just driving around but gets visceral once you wind it up.
