Gimme names of a lot of those guys! LOL Most of them don't seem to have a lot of interest in street bikes. I've been there, done that, and after getting into dirt biking was the beginning to the end of my street riding days. Way more fun!
I'm looking to make the switch back. Man do I miss my old YZ-125.

There's definitely more fun to be had on dirtbikes. Unfortunately it's more difficult to find new places to ride in metro

how about WVtwisties?? i probably know ~30 others who do both...10 of those guys own and run the main Honda shop I get all my bikes and servicing done at.....they're also all on my hockey team!
i'm guessing i dont' know them all.....couple other million i'm guessing

...but i get your point..maybe you should just be a little more realistic there's a pretty decent crossover..just like any other related sports.

sounds like i did the opposite you did...i grew up in WV..first road the crap out of a yamaha blaster..then yz125..then 250...got to be 18 and bought a cbr900rr...pretty much never got back on the dirtbikes and fourwheelers. only used the fourwheelers for sledriding and farm work. After college, i've only lived in metro areas and it's quite a process to trailer a dirtbike an hour...be there for the day and head home..don't have the time and motivation.

I was talking about top pros, not you and your amateur buddies!

Seriously, there's very little crossover in the pro ranks. When pro dirtbikers play on pavement, they most often seem to gravitate toward supermoto.

Yes, trailering is more of a hassle, but it beats dealing w/ tickets, seeing friends dying and w/ life-changing injuries, ever increasing ins. premiums, etc.

I used to love riding my sportbikes at way too high speeds on streets, but when I realized I was pushing my luck, and sportbikes just aren't that much fun at sane speeds. Track days/roadracing is a blast, but that's even more of a hassle since the tracks are further away than all the dirt riding places....and the cost is a multiple of what dirt biking runs.
