Stupid people shouldn't be allowed to endanger the rest. Whoever buys those tires will have to shave them before mounting the wheels if they don't want to end up like IS300 boy.

That thread was good for a great laugh.
In my idiot file, when I was in High School A. A. was new. It didn't last very long. A friend suggested brake fluid. Apply a nice coat of this to your sidewalls and they were "wicked focking jet black" and it lasted alot longer than Armor All. The thing he didn't tell me was it has to be absolutely dry before you start driving. You see brake fluid is an incredible solvent and takes paint right off. So I ended up with theses fenders missing alot of paint.
Thankfully it was a ten year old Mercury Comet, nobody noticed.

True story about my S2000. I bought the car in 99 and they were hard to find for MSRP then. I found a small dealer 200+ miles from me that had one so I gave him my credit card # for a deposit and took off to go get it. When I got to the dealership they had it cleaned up and waiting for me. I took it out for a short test drive and on the first slow corner the back end came around very quickly. I nursed it back to the dealership with it feeling like I was on ice everytime I tried to turn. When I got out and looked at the tires I could see that they had Armor All all over the tread. It turned out that their NEW detail guy thought it would look good. I was seriously pissed. It wore off fairly quickly but I had to drive with great care until it did.

I don't HAVE to do shit.
You mean it's not okay to put the shiny stuff on the treads? Once in a while, I put some of the shiny stuff on the sidewalls, but some people say that will make it slippery during turns. The car doesn't turn on its sidewalls, does it? It doesn't even use them; maybe the lowest 1mm of the sidewalls.
