You guys ever see 100 octane "racing gas" at a regular gas station?

Why do you want high octane fuel unless you are having detonation. High octane fuel has a slower burn and less power. It's the slower burn that controls detonation. All you are doing is wasting money and actually going slower.

Raceboy is right. Unfortunately 91 octane causes noticeable detonation at high-load WOT in my Z06. Never really noticed it in my S, maybe the knock sensors and long term fuel trims kicked in sooner.

they have it back home in northern WI, a lot of ppl will run it in their snowmobiles in the winter. not stock snowmobiles, of course, but the heavily modded ones. that, and there are a lot of stock car races on clay ovals or tri-ovals, and the racers need it to keep their 302's and 350's from blowing up when they run a cam so big it barely idle's properly...

I buy it(Unocal Race Gas $3.99 a Gallon) for my son's CR85 two stroke. He races Motocross. At first we were fouling plugs quite a bit at $5 ea. I mix it 50%with regular premium & racing 2-stroke oil and we have'nt bought a spark plug since.
I tried it at a track day in my VFR, it ran good (it always does), my butt-o-meter dyno noticed a little more power and the exhaust soot which is usually a little black came out silver/white. Other than that one time I would not use it in my road vehicles.
Be careful.......it has tons of lead in it.
