(one) reason why i would pick the Porsche in some of the above comparisons is because it is a Porsche

IMO Germans love sportscars more than Yanks do and by some accounts the 911 is the best German car (that we can afford).

No, Fixed: IMO Germans love sportscars more than most Yanks do and by some accounts the 911 is the best German car (that we can afford).

Of course I can see why you said that, considering how many wrong wheel drive automatics are prowling the US highways, it's pretty sad when well over 60% of vettes sold are autos and I can just about guarantee you if the S2000 was available with an auto there would be assholes buying that too.

well the 911 has been my dream car since i was a little kid, the last few years i didn't really like the styling of the 911's, the 997 looks pretty good but i think the c6 looks amazing, looks like a vette/viper to me, i'm pretty sure my next car will be a c6 whenever that day comes.

Of the two, I'll take the 911.

I am loyal to neither exclusively. I'd take either.

I don't like both of them. Many sports cars attract me way more than those two:

Ferrari F430
Acura NSX
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR
Subaru Impreza WRX STi
BMW M3
Honda S2000
Mazda RX-8
Infiniti G35 coupe
Acura RSX TYPE S
Honda Civic Si

For Corvette, it seems too heavy to me because of the V8 engine. For 911, it just looks the same for so many years, and this design looks pretty ugly to me. I guess both of them run very fast, but just not my type of car.

Yeah but the LS1 is lighter than the 13B. The Z06 is lighter than your G35 .. by a good couple hundred pounds.

Yeah, well those are not sports cars.

You cannot argue that the Porsche uses higher quality materials puts a bit more thought into the ergonomics and just plain niceness of things like tactile switch feel. That does not mean that the Corvette is horrible in my opinion at least, but one only needs to look at a pair of corvette seats after a couple of years of use to understand that there is a quality gap.

Quick Reply: Are you a Corvette guy or a 911 guy?
