IIRC, that's with the LS1, whereas the 05 will have the LS6... be afraid, very afraid

Ls6 is the zo6 motor....if they wanted to put that in, they could of put it in from the start.

ya it's the Z06 engine, 05 will have 400 hp.

Um, no. The '05 will have the LS2 from the C6. 6.0 Liters 400hp/400ft lbs (in vette may be detuned a bit for the goat).

That's a stretch...at least as far as the 04 goes. I have now raced several one of which is a 6 spd owned by a friend of mine. It has good out of the hole grunt and he can sometimes keep his front at my rear bumper until I shift to 2nd...by the middle of third I have multiple car lengths. They will probably be too much for an S2K from a dig unless the S2 gets a great launch...on the highway I think it would be closer. I was a little surprised at how quickly the GTO falls back at highway speeds against my M3 but I'm sure there will soon be a strong aftermarket for that car and you could easily slap a blower on it.

05 GTO is the LS2. from the C6 vette. Also on the 05 GTO are hood scoops and a real dual exhaust. However, expect a price increase of about 2000 over the MSRP of the 04 price of 33k.

I am actually probably going to purchase the 05 when it comes out..

From what I've been seeing around Minnesota, you can pick up an '04 for at/under $25k. They may be powerful, but I don't like them; the interior seems typical Pontiac-style cheap.

I haven't seen one, but the magazines all said it's the best interior ever on a Pontiac. The only pontiac I've been in recently is a co-worker's '96 Grand Am, and with 87,000 miles on it, it felt like it was falling apart as we clattered down the road. It also looked as if Mattel had built the interior from spare GI Joe parts.
