MrKim...If u have a bike and want to take to the mountains and stuff...I would go with the WRX. I was thinking of getting one also...station wagon automatic. I'm planning to go snowboarding as often as I can next season.

Can you wait a little while?? Maybe 8 months? If so, I'd consider the upcoming EVO 7/8... It "should" be quite capable of bitch-slapping either car you're currently considering...

I convinced my girlfriend to buy the WRX wagon and she loves it. My thoughts are that the car is $23K because they skimped on suspension, brakes, and the gearbox. If you get a WRX consider upgrades in those departments almost mandatory to achieve a satisfying driving experience. I could not drive that car stock. The good: The WRX is ridiculously fast.

buy a used Civic or accord and save your money. When you get out of college, get what you REALLY want. Don't settle... life is too short to settle.

I had the same practicality argument with myself choosing between a WRX and an S2000.Living in New England made an S2000 seem like a ridiculous choice but I knew if I bought the WRX I'd always have pangs of anxiety every time I saw an S2000 in spite of how nice a sedan the WRX is. Now 5 months later I have no pangs of anxiety whenever I see a WRX. If an S2000 is what you really want and you can possibly afford it, go for it, you'll never regret it.

P.S. Two months later my 18 year old son bought a new WRX. At least some people in my family are practical.
