Which would you prefer?
Just looked on DuPont Registry, you can swing a 99 0r 00 360 Modena coupe for ~$115K (+/-) which is not too far off the price of a new 991 GT3.
Lets say 99/00 F360 vs 07/08 GT3
which would you prefer and why?
EDIT: they probably weigh near the same 30xx or 31xx lbs and have near the same rated HP.
Ferrari: 3.6L V8 400hp at 8500 rpm and 275-TQ at 4750 rpm
GT3 3.6L H6 415hp at 7600 rpm and 299-TQ at 5500 rpm
(I suspect the GT3 may be under rated with it's dyno of 390 at the wheel) and it is probable quicker than the F360 (stock v stock) in most situations.

There is a question about if you will pay a lot for a Ferrari in maintance and repairs (etc.) which will probably be a lot. After all the Ferrari is 6-7 years old.
But on the other hand, the GT3 will depreciate $40K in 3-4 years. I'm sure the 360 will depreciate some as well in that time, but most likely will depreciate less than the Porsche since new cars generally take a big hit the first 2-3 years.

I voted for the GT3. As much as I love the F360 and I think it's a better WOW car. I think the GT3 stands up to it in most ways, and being newer has some tech and features and generally (IMO) the new Porsche should be more reliable and probably is as much fun to drive.
I wouldn't kick either one off my driveway, but if I had to pick, probably the GT3 is my pick.

I don't buy cars based on depreciation concerns. GT3.
The GT3 seems to be one of the few expensive cars that get bought by guys who actually use them where the should be used. Looking on Rennlist, the amount of guys who track these - and I've seen it in person, is phenomenal.
I've seen guys plodding around slowly in novice groups in two different events, as well as dudes dueling it out with C6 Z06s up in advanced.

not to mention, it'll make a 360 look slow

gt3 looks like a modded 911. common as hell. 360 might not be as good on the road, but it looks much better for the money. and c'mon you're prob not going to use either car to it's potential.

Having had the good fortune to drive this baby on my local mountain roads, here's my vote. There is something "magical" about a Ferrari(though totally impractical),the car is pure sex.
