I've been searching for a used 335i and the two attractive looking ones are "repurchasing from BMW of North America" due to repairs. Both are still under factory warranty. I never heard or know anyone bought a Lemon before. Should I avoid?

That would probably be a good idea IMO. Depending on what the problem was, it was big enough to have the buyer return the car.

Fuel pump issue. Which I think is a common problem with 335i.

Attractive and lemon do not go hand in hand. I would stay away especially because its a BMW. Im a BMW tech and thats my honost opinion.

For a new(er)car to be returned as a Lemon it has had major issues. My mom used to have a V6 Mazda 626 that was returned to Mazda as a Lemon. The car was in service 12 times for the same issues(air conditioning and other electrical gremlins) within 10 months. It's a annoyingly long process and most likely not just a 'fuel pump issue'.

You know, I was curious about this a while ago too. Before I bought my s2k, I was looking at an infinity that was a lemon.

...with that said, I could see a customer being stupidly picking and getting it lemon'd because of that. Is that possible?

The law protects customers from owning lemons, but also protects manufacturers from having to buy back picky customers' cars.

expensive BMW also expensive headaches

on that note, I would not want to buy a car that is sold cheap because there is a lot of problems, even if it is under warranty. I mean, that warranty isn't going to be there when you get t-boned and those airbags don't deploy.
