Would you buy a 4 door Mustang
https://www.motortrend.com/news/ford...thing-we-know/
I saw this a couple weeks ago, but came across it again today. Suppose Ford makes a four door GT Mustang (or under another name) with a V8, and offers a stick, would you be interested if it were say $55k? I think I would take a serious look.

Shouldn’t be called a mustang. With all the names in their arsenal to use it shouldn’t be called a mustang. Same goes for the Mach e. Stupid of ford.

Also $55k for a GT level Mustang is also just nuts. I get that's where we are in the world right now, but honestly it really shouldn't be. The Coyote motor has been around since 2012, the current chassis is based on the S550 which has been around since 2015, all the new tech like the screens and such actually makes building these cars easier/cheaper. The only reason why it costs more is because consumers believe this is where the world is at and in reality it doesn't have to be.
I get that a GT now makes close to GT350 levels of power, but naturally OEMs need to offer more to get people to buy an aging product, that's how it works.
I never liked that the Charger was a sedan from the get go, but the original Chargers were so long ago that I couldn't really care. Mustang is a different story, I wish they learned from the Mach E that they shouldn't dilute the name like that. Ford has a ton of awesome names they could use, heck I'd be ok if they called it a Gran Torino, Galaxy, SHO, etc etc, but Mustang? Smh, the domestic OEMs continue to get marketing wrong. You don't see Porsche putting the 911 name on the Taycan or Panamera do you?
But whatever, if the car is good, then so be it, just a marking misstep imo.

I think the practice of Ford trying to "Mustang" everything is pathetic. Stick to your guns, have some balls - they have plenty of valuable nameplates that could be used for many of their newer vehicles. (And Chevy is trying to do the same thing with the Corvette because, you know, GM always follows Ford).

If I was looking for a 4dr sedan, and this fit the bill, why would I care what it was called? I agree it shows lack of creativity from Ford, but it wouldn't stop me from being a potential buyer, which I am not.
