If you do DD this car, just take out a fat stated value insurance policy and F it. If it gets stolen, you'll make money.

I was quoted slightly over $50 a month for the Type R for full insurance in my multi car policy... so no worries there. They gave me that quote without providing a definitive value for the car though. They said they'll generate it later from KBB. But that won't work since KBB doesn't value Type Rs. I did the same as you and went to NADA.

Look at the whole situation. The CAR IS A CLEAN TITLE meaning it's never been stolen. So obviously someone made it 13 years without being jacked. It's crazy how some people on here look at things.

1) Clean title doesnt mean it was not stolen, because a car can be stolen and have a clean title, it just means the car was recovered before the insurance company settled as it never coming back (most wait 30+ days before settling) and the damages if there were any wasn't enough to total it.

2) With every generalization, there always exceptions, and if you live your life by exceptions, I hear old Jaguars make exceptional DDs, all the lux of a top end german car and my friend's Jag has been toyota camry reliable.

I dont see why this car would be any less reliable than a gsr or prelude, so provided that it was well taken care of and not abused (I'd seriously question that second part) I don't see why not. Given the age and mileage though, expect other things to start going bad, wearable items on suspension like struts, bushings, etc, clutch perhaps? cvs tend to go bad on hondas around that time, electricals like starters and fuel pumps tend to be on borrowed time by that point, etc etc. So I'd be surprised if you went 30K and all you needed to do was oil changes, gas, and maybe brakes, something is bound to go wrong with that mileage and age.
And if you plan on driving it from your locked garage to another locked/guarded garage, and never leave it parked in public unattended for over an hour, especially at night on a street, I don't see what's wrong with buying one. Hope it's worth it.
Come on man. Yeah they stole an ITR parked it somewhere for 30 days didnt TOUCH A thing and he recovers it clean?

Why buy any older honda for that matter? They all get stolen, even older accord get stolen.

I may be misinterpreting you, but a lot of cars get recovered without, or with minimal, damages. Back when these cars were relatively new, seats and engine won't total a vehicle. Don't take my word for it, you could just ask ITR owners who had their cars stolen, lol. With the lower value of the vehicles, I'd imagine more and more of them will have salvage titles.

Educate yourself about the 2008+ Cobalt SS TURBO....A lot of people don't know much about its capacities.

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/13/i...balt-ss-turbo/

It comes with 18" forged wheels, Brembo front brakes, magazine numbers are close to S2000 numbers. I have heard on the track, it can hang with RWD machines including the S2000. Not to mention u can actually launch this, unlike the S2000.

A 2007 Cobalt SS Supercharged and 2008 Cobalt SS turbo are 2 different stories. One has 205 hp and isn't bad and the other has 260 hp and it is turbo. If u had a 2008+ ,I doubt u wouldnt be saying that.

As for people saying, "then your driving a Cobalt". If your main objective is going fast, then it shouldn't matter. Do you know how many people have switched brands mainly because of the high theft of Hondas? We know.have to worry about.our whole S2000 getting.stolen, not just the seats.

I give the ITR its props, I owned a Teggy and loved it, but for MOST, its just not worth it.

They already are calling the Cobalt SS TURBO a future classic, due to limited production and how good the car is.
