Would-Be Carjackers Thwarted By Stick Shift
One more reason why stick shifts rule. Would-Be Carjackers Thwarted By Stick Shift
LINTHICUM, Md. (AP) — Anne Arundel County police say two men who tried to carjack a vehicle ran off when they found out the car had a stick shift. A man was talking with acquaintances early Tuesday at the Exxon on Camp Meade Road in Linthicum when two masked men, one with a gun, tried to take his car. But the suspects ran off when the man said his 2005 Volkswagen has a stick shift.

I told my friend this was one of the reasons to buy a MT vehicle along with not many friends or family will take your vehicle for joy rides. And of course the idiot buys a AT.

Same thing happened to my friend. Guy came out of nowhere on her driveway and tried to jack her BMW 3-series coupe. She's like - "Fine, just let me get my nephew out of the backseat."
He then jumped in, saw that it was stickshift, and ran off. Caught later by cops for robbing a convenience store.
That's why I roll my eyes when I hear so and so's Other Half can't and won't learn how to drive stickshift. I think if you can signal your blinkers, you can row your own gears.
