I know this is thread #124 on the '08 Vette, but check this quote out in the new R&T on page 114:

"Everything is sensed through the steering wheel. I hate to say it, but it feels -heaven help us- Porsche-like. In fact, a Porsche with better balance and power delivery."

Uh oh, time to say your prayers to God.

Sounds like they really addressed the "steering feel" issue.

that'd be nice.

Basically what I understand is the Cayman is NICE but power about 25 to 50% less than the Vette so the it's paying for the finer points.

And the Vette has always been a good power/value but not up to the Porsche on the feel (quantity over quality).

hopefully GM has made the 08+ vettes better than ever. Like a 1/4 pounder Value meal price for a 5-star steak dinner.

Is this the September issue? Is the C6 on the cover?

It's the September issue. It's the 0-200 mph shootout with the Veyron, Hennessey Viper, Lambo Murcielago, Ligenfelter Corvette, SLR McLaren, Ruf Porsche Rt12. That's another thread.

GM is fighting for its life. They are now delivering what the General should always had delivered.

AMEN. Damn nothing would make me happier than to have an American auto company pull its head out of its ass and start delivering models that consumers actually find desirable...instead of rental cars and cheapo garbage.

If all these early 2008 vette stories turn out to be consensus, I may be spotted in that Atomic Orange color in the next few years...

I hope they start regularly improving the Solstice like they are the Vette...
