If you take some time looking, I'm sure you'll find a used S2000 in immaculate condition. Believe it or not, there are owners out there that don't know you can take it past 5000 rpm.

i understand that you've been waiting a long time for this car and there's no other person on this board or in real life that deserves the an s2000 more than you just based on your patience level alone.
i personally think the whole break-in thing is overrated. it's just a bunch of guys treating their cars like pu$$y. some of these fools are the weird types that would only marry a virgin. maybe not quite so, but u know what i'm saying? it's just a car.
now with all that said, think of the additional money you will have left over for modifictions for some nice rims and some clean body kit additions or even better... an awesome vacation with your loved one(s) if you got the clean used one that's thousands of dollars less than a new one even if it is heavily discounted from MSRP.
it shouldn't be hard at all to find a clean, used S2000 that's been living in a garage for a good while.
i promise you whether it's high mileage or low mileage, as long as the owner maintained it right, you will get all the satisfaction in the world by driving the snot out of it at your leisure.
so no worries, all right? just avoid hyping this car up more than it really is. i still love mine, but you realize you it's just a damn car pretty quickly.
cheers,

good advice WRS2K
u could save loads with just the right car...and u will have lots of options than finding a new 2003
go for a used 02-03...they shouldnt be hard to find
and look for clean ones....it should properly tell u how its been broken in
i have three of my friends who have "vteced the first day
and long after 40,000miles they r still running fine!
good luck with your find/!

Hey thanks for the words of advice WRS2K. Talk me down man, talk me down!! I know what you're saying, I just find myself getting caught up in the moment and it drives me nuts. I obsess about things really bad, I think I need some help. Thanks again, hey next spring maybe I'll drop you a line and put together a little S2k meet in the Seattle area. Thanks again.

my friend is selling his '03 S..spa yellow.. 1000 miles.. probably not until spring/summer of next year. has oem front lip (not installed, car cover, muz convex mirrors etc...)..i think he was talking about $28k for it.
just never got comfortable with the rwd setup.. he preferred his R, so I think he's going back to another R. i don't think he even went past 65 in it
