Wife wants an SUV with 3rd row seating...

Why can't Honda offer their SH-AWD system in the Odyssey? The top line (Elite?) is already nearly a $50k minivan, you can't throw some AWD in it to compete with the Toyota? Bugs me. To the point that if I were to shop minivans, the Sienna comes out slightly ahead in my book.

This.
Our 2014 Odyssey is a ton better than any SUV we looked at, from a space to economy standpoint it won every comparison we used.
Maybe not as "sexy" but a hell of a lot better ride.
Brand new Pilot is out and is a huge step forward. Better economy, more room, better looking, bigger 3rd row, more amenities, more cargo room, etc, etc. The Highland is small compared to the OLD Pilot and is way smaller compared to the new Pilot.
This isn't even a choice. Pilot all the way (new or old).
A minivan is still a way better choice for third row seating, plus they have more cargo room, tend to ride better and also have better handling and they're generally more economical. For larger families, there is nothing better.

btw i hated driving any of the minivans. Tried a few of them. Liked how the pilot drove better. It's not sporty at all of course, but very comfortable.
Also in NYC traffic, 50/50 hwy/city, we averaged 17.8 mpg.

2016 pilot is out for about a month now. Looks like an acura and bringing in a serious premium with it. None are being discounted at my dealership and others around us. It's very impressive though but some say it's too minivanish..
