I drove a SLR and the doors look great, but in practice they suck.
You have to reach way the hell up and slam the door to close it and then you don't often close it hard enough and you have to open it and slam it closed again.
My point for this money and the weight of the door it should have a auto closer or at least a mechanism to close it the rest of the way after you slam it closed.

The gullwing doors were on the Mercedes because they needed to get in the car, and the sills are so high and wide - its hard to get into that car though, which is why gullwing doors aren't popular.
