Why no Honda V8?

they sell cars and as of now they make money. no need to invest in disruptive technology to the company.
just keep it simple stupid = make money

producing a V8 for racing is vastly different than putting one in a production car. For starters, a production car V8 is going to require different power delivery characteristics than a racing-only engine, as well as different materials with longer-lasting qualities. And the facilities required to build a handful of engines for racing use is minimal compared to what is required to churn out enough production engines to accomodate mediocre sales.
I expect Honda management is happy to avoid V8 cars, just as they avoid RWD in their volume cars. They would have to compete with Lexus and Infiniti on something other than price and mileage, not to mention Cadillac, BMW, Mercedes, Chrysler, Ford/Mercury, etc.
