More drivetrain loss because you're using the engine to drive other things?

I think some cars temporarily suspend the AC when at WOT.

Cause you know its true. Try driving the car with a relatively large passenger. Its a PITA. Its still an awesome car though.

I had a HUGE friend bum a ride to get gas one time. I couldn't let go of the clutch starting out until around 1500-2000rpm :0! Good thing I didn't have to take him far or he would have ruined my seats.

At least were not in denial man. It is interesting that my drivers seat is in almost perfect condition. The passenger side is wearing faster.

as i recall the early cars actually had a passenger weight limit (in the manual)... dont recall what it was, and never been a problem for me-

do the new cars have a weight limit in the manual??

(and to answer the original question, its cause the a/c compressor is not engaged with the a/c is off and it is when the a/c is on- so you will notice a drop in power with it on... just another reason to never put the top up!!)
