Default Why do we get Mugen instead of Type -R

Why do we get a mugen si instead of type-r civic. It seems to me the civic type-r would have been cheaper than the 30k mugen.

Also if Honda thinks they wont sell enough type-r s so they dont export them, what is the deal with the mugen.?

Or maybe the type-r is too cool that they want it to stay in Japan only?

Or maybe they will bring it over if the mugen does well?

What do you think?

I just read something online that the Type-R in Japan costs the equivalent of $26k here. I also remember the Integra Type-R being 21-22k when it was sold here not too long ago. So those saying they wouldn't pay 30k for a Civic wouldn't have to because it should not be anywhere near that.

I hope Honda comes to its senses and sends it to us.

It probably is because there's no way to make that car street legal in the US. It would fail smog and all the safety requirements of the US. Even if it did pass, there's not many gas stations selling octane above 91.

If i remember correctly, ITRs were $24k MSRP and selling close to $30k at some dealerships.

Anyway, id rather have a Mugen RR.

It's because of American Honda and their moronic marketing stradegies.Blame Elliot and the rest of the idiots in Torrance for not demanding this and the rest of the goodies that are Japan only.

........If we are Honda's number 1 market we should get what we want;not the watered down.....dumbed down ;half-assed version of what we have come to accept

I'm 35 and a little old for a Civc. But I would be very, very tempted to sell the TSX if a CTR sedan were available.
