Why do Cadillac have such a poor resale?

I stated my experience with Cadillac over a number of models and years, and it appears my experience is not worth counting, but someone else's comment concerning one model is accepted as reflective of the whole make, for every year, into the past and out to the future. That is why "internet experts" make me laugh.

i think there are 2 reasons for the crappy resale
1) The stigma of being American built (which mean that it 'must' be unreliable)
2) The average age of Caddy owners not too long ago was pretty damn high, and people of that age bracket can afford to buy a new car, so why would they want to settle on a used one??
One more thing too... We always want something that is not from around here, just as we LOVE all cars that are not American-made.
Believe it or not, but the Japanese can't get enough Corvettes, Escalades, Surburbans, Yukons, Caprices and other American "pos" vehicles. You should see how frantic they are about getting US-made upgrades (SLP, Edelbrok, svt, etc etc) for their American vehicles... It is as bad as our appetite for JDM parts for our cars over here.

By not accepting advertising, Consumer Reports remains above any suspicion of favoritism to any particular make.
