Who would like to drive a GNX rather than
I know there is another thread about the Grand National or GNX. But I wanted to ask more specifically if people would drive a car like that rather than as a collector car.
I drove an old GM (Chevy Nova), not saying it's the same or even that close, but it scared me away from that type of car for life.
I don't imagine it turns very well, I'm sure they are quick in a straight line and can add power easily, but for real driving wouldn't a C5 Z06 or heck even a GTO be a lot nicer?
I'm not trying to start a flame war, just curious what other people think.
EDIT: even if you wanted to drive something vintage (old) are there other cars ie. NSX or ZR-1 that'd you pick over a GNX?
I like the exterior look and shape of the GNX and GN, but the interior kills me.

Out the cars you listed give me the Vette. Old cars are great but I live in 2007, not 1987.

I would be plenty happy driving a GNX as a vintage garage queen on the weekends. I would not drive it daily. if I were to get a daily driver sports car I'd go NSX or C5, or maybe a 90s GT like a well-kept 300ZX TT or M3. Heck even an S2000, late model Miata or Boxster are great.
I used to own a 1984 Buick Regal Limited. It had the exact same interior save the guage cluster, and I remember it being perfectly livable. If I wanted a daily driver GN-type car, I'd look for an old T-Type. I wouldn't get a real GN. But these cars are easy theft targets too, as I found out from personal experience.

I wouldn't drive a low miles GNX. For the 80's muscle car kick, I would pick up a standard Grand National and build the motor to 700+hp. I'd be thinking about hurting value everytime I drive the GNX.

BTW, if anyone thinks the $92k price on the GNX in the other thread (which is now up to $111k) is a lot of cash for these cars, check this one:
GNX #129 - Chicago, IL
Only 60 original miles (though they don't list a photo to prove it), and it's never been titled. These cars are no joke on the used market.

FWIW, plenty of people have daily drivers that aren't powerful, attractive, or handle well. I don't see why a person is excused in your mind for picking a Civic or Camry over a turbo Buick, NSX, ZR-1, GTO, or Z06.
I'd rather have a car I like than a car that meets the approval of someone else. I could give a rat's ass how a car might do in autocross if I have no intention of being competitive in autocross.
And people don't buy a car like a GNX to drive around in. They buy it because they have extra money laying around that they wish to spend on something rare and special.
At some point in life, you decide not to let other people's opinions dictate how you live your life. People who buy cars like the GNX have reached that point.
