well, you could argue both ways.

1) if you're in the market for a new car, and you don't know much about cars....you see these placements and say "gee, that's a neat car, did they say it was a Mazda? Maybe I'll go take a look at one"

2) if you know a lot about cars, or an enthusiast, and take notice of vehicles used in movies, TV's, videos....you'd say "Gee, mazda seems to put their cars in everything, are they that desperate? I know the RX8 sorta fizzled with the HP thing, are they trying to recover by doing this? Maybe I'll look at the s2000 instead"

Simon, I agree with you. Your dead on.

I've seen so many RX8 commercials lately and 6 and 3 commercials as well as the placement. There wasn't very many .... umm NO RX8 commercials in Canada when they first came out. Certainly seems like despiration to me.

On top of that. In every paper at the autoshow they had a full page RX8 add, the Sun was giving away an RX8 at the show as well! HMMM

I got a question about product placement. In the Matrix Reloaded the infamous Highway scene has a bunch of GM cars (Bucik, Caddy, GMC) but in one part the someone steals a BMW (and destroys it as I recall).
Do you think its because GM didn't want show their cars breaking in half as the BMW does?

umm, I think it's a sign of success, I know the mazda 6 and 3 are selling very fast, they have really topped the competition such as civics and corolla's. As far as the RX8 is concerned, i've seen more around here then S2000's(I'm glad they are on the rare side).
