What's faster around the track a street bike or a car?

UL, cool link. I'm a Z06 owner. I read that magazine article but never saw a rebuttal, and from a such a respected source in the vette community. Thanks.
The question (bike versus car) is a sticky one. One curiousity is sportbikes come with stickier rubber than almost all street cars. Among all the riders I know, average life of current DOT legal sportbike tires seems to be 2,000 to 4,000 miles. Life for hard-driven sportscar tires is at least 6,000 miles and probably higher than that on average. So sport bike tires are normally closer to race rubber than sportcar tires.
The next issue is how hard it is to use every bit of front tire traction on a bike. Doesn't take much to tuck under or highside. Happens to the best of 'em. As opposed to a little understeer from an overdriven car. Seems easier to drive a car at the limits.
I did think lay-down karts were faster than any cars or bikes at most tracks.
