What is your "Ultimate" automobile?
To make things a little more clear and organized, try to follow this format:
Make/Model:
Price:
Rate 1 to 10 (1 being lowest, 10 being highest)
Reliability:
Fit and finish:
Daily Driveability:
Track ability:
Handling:
Performance (Top speed, acceleration, braking, etc):
Modifying ability:
Fun factor:
Exterior design:
Interior design:
Technology:
Comfort:
Value:
And a short paragraph or two for picking the car.
I'll start out with...
Mercedes Benz 2003 CL55 AMG
$125,000 (new) $55,000 (used)
Reliability:6 (Not so reliable, if you do not have an extended warranty, consider it financial suicide)
Fit and finish:10 (Quality material used on the interior and exterior)
Daily Driveability:10 (Feels like you can drive forever in the car)
Track ability:7 (The only place this 4500 lbs. coupe can call it's habitat is the 1/4 mile track)
Handling:7 (did I mention 4500 lbs. coupe?)
Performance (Top speed, acceleration, braking, etc):10 (phenomenal performance thanks to the kompressor and huge AMG caliper brake system, ABC sport is a miracle worker too)
Modifying ability:10 (From the stock 496hp, Kleemann can tune it to 620hp+)
Fun factor:7 (If the S2000 is a 10 then this would be a modest 7 for being large and heavy)
Exterior design:9 (Classic shape, unforgettable)
Interior design:9 (Interior luxury and ergonomics are well sorted)
Technology:8 (So much technology going on behind the car, so much is unknown to the public)
Comfort:10 (CL stands for comfort lounge?)
Value:7 (Depreciates like a rock but you get a luxury ,drag car, looking supercar with 3 pointed stars on the front grill)
The CL55 is definitely a classic Mercedes since they have featured many new technology on the CL-class first. It is the most successful selling full-sized coupe on the market. The key to this was the design and technology behind the CL55, which were not evident in other competitors like the Aston Martin DB models and Bentley coupes. Sure the CL55 lacked a sophisticated navigation system and suffered a lot in quality parts but it sure made it up in performance, luxury, and everyday use.

whoa, this thread is too much work...
I'll just say that my ultimate car is the 911 Turbo. Always wanted one...doesnt' really matter which individual aspects of the car stand out; if I had $130k sitting around that is the car that would be in my garage...in Carerra White.

Make/Model: McLaren F1 LM
Price: $2M
Rate 1 to 10 (1 being lowest, 10 being highest)
Reliability: 5 (not so much unreliable as the fact that it wears parts, like the clutch, very quickly)
Fit and finish: 8 (hardcore car but still supposedly very well built - handmade!)
Daily Driveability: 5 (clutch is tough to use at slow speeds/moving from a stop, and the car is very low)
Track ability: 10 (lots of grip, real aero package, great brakes, and tons of power)
Handling: 10 (only weighs 2300 lbs, at most, plus very low CG and lots of tire for grip)
Performance (Top speed, acceleration, braking, etc): 10 (only a few cars are consistently quicker or close - Koeniggsegg, Veyron, Zonda (maybe), and Ultima GTR)
Modifying ability: 5 (factory can do anything you want, though you won't have any aftermarket support. Very expensive to modify!)
Fun factor: 10 (just listening to the engine is amazing, much less putting your foot into it. It will pull on an F1 car of that era from 150 mph onwards!)
Exterior design: 10 (classic but exotic at the same time)
Interior design: 10 (full stereo, central driving position, lots of carbon fiber)
Technology: 10 (best car in its day and still one of the best now)
Comfort: 6 (custom seat fitted for driver but still quite stiff)
Value: 7 (it's a classic but it's still expensive - it shouldn't lose value over time)
And a short paragraph or two for picking the car.
This is my dream car, essentially. While a Carrera GT is infinitely more attainable (1/5 the cost) and nearly as quick, it's not as exotic or brutal. The CGT would be my "slight chance in hell" choice. The LM, though, is not going to happen, so it is definitely my ultimate ride.
The McLaren F1 LM pushes out roughly 680 hp, does the 1/4 mile in the high 10s range, can drive upside down at 160 mph due to aerodynamic downforce, and is custom built or modified for each driver. It is based off the McLaren F1 GTR race car and actually is quicker and lighter than that car, due to stripping some of the race gear (jacks, rear tail extension, ducting, etc, etc). It is, in my eyes, the ultimate sports car. A Veyron is quicker but too heavy. The Zonda is a genuine contender but doesn't look as good (even if it looks wilder). The Koeniggsegg is faster and quicker but again, not as good looking and not as focused or "pure" as the F1 LM.
To borrow the phrase, there is no substitute for the McLaren F1 LM.

Make/Model: Ferrari F2007
Price: Don't know - ask Marlboro
Rate 1 to 10 (1 being lowest, 10 being highest)
Reliability: 8. It'll finish a couple races, but then requires a complete teardown. Blows up every once in a while, however.
Fit and finish: 9.
Daily Driveability: ZERO.
Track ability: TEN
Handling: TEN
Performance (Top speed, acceleration, braking, etc): TEN
Modifying ability: 5. It gets modified for every race just about, but is restricted by the FIA rules.
Fun factor: 10
Exterior design: 10. Those aero boys know what they're doing.
Interior design: 1. Barely has an interior.
Technology: 5. Would be a ten, except for those rules restrictions.
Comfort: 9. Has custom molded seats.
Value: Cannot be classified.
And a short paragraph or two for picking the car.
Jeez, what can I say? The Audi R10 is a very, very close second.
