What are your thoughts on '05 G35c 6spd?

A very nice car overall. I like it a lot. With that said, I've beentrouble convincing myself to get it as replacement for my S. I've been so spoiled by the S's sitting position, gearbox, nimbleness and handling, that the G35 appeared like a ho-hum family sedan in my test drive (which it is really not).
I am struggling myself to decide between a new S, G35, STi, Evo, C6 as my next car. The forced options (moonroof, Bose crap, etc) on the G35 doesn't help it cause.

My wife and I checked these out on Friday. In my opinion, the interior on the '05 is way nicer than the previous cars - the center stack looks a lot nicer, for sure.
That said, I didn't really like the 19" wheels that come with the sport package - I preferred the stock wheels (when they're polished). I don't mind the 19's - they just didn't "grab" me, though.
Beautiful car - I may actually get this instead of an S2000 when the time comes, just because it's actually semi-usable if I have to take my wife and baby girl in the car with me.
Great choice - post pics when you get it.

I too compared all those you've mentioned. Since I totalled my S, my wife to be didn't want another 2 seater. Too many bad memories. So, right off the bat, the S, Z4 3.0, SLK, 350Z, and C6 were all out of the question. She saw them all and didn't like 'em.
I like the RX-8, and they had great discounts on '04s, but she didn't like it. Too much like the S. I loved the 6-spd on it though, next best thing to the s2k IMO.
We test drove the WRX (couldn't test the STi), she wasn't too impressed. Same for EVO. Besides, she didn't want the 4 door.
So, that made my decision easy. It was between M3 and G35. She preferred the G35, so we went and ordered one.
Will definitely post pics once it comes in.
Other comments,
Yes, they did get rid of the Brembos for '05. That does suck. But, I like the interior redo/update.
In regards to price, if you are in the military, Grubbs Infiniti in TX is selling for Invoice price. Add $700 for shipping anywhere in lower 48 States. (The power of Google). I got a local dealer match that price.
"I thought about getting one too. It's funny how the manual is more expensive than automatic. " Actually, it's NOT. Invoice price are about the same. If you add the options on automatic, it actually costs more than the manual.
I actually like the 19s. Like I said, the wheels and the seats were the first two things that got me interested.
Thanks again,
LT
