I had a 1997 NSX-T with the 3.2L engine. It was nice looking but not really fast by today's standards on straightaways and could get it's lunch handed to it by an S2000 on a tight track or every time by a modded S2000 (why I sold mine and bought another S2000 and modded it (KW V3's, forced induction, etc). I think I saw an MSRP for a loaded NSX going for $83K in 2005. If one uses change in inflation/consumer price index, that $83K car would cost about $97K today - which is close to the $100K sticker Road and Track is suggesting. I personally don't like the way the NSX looks and it doesn't come in a drop top - so I'll keep my modded S and my R8 Spyder. I personally like Godzilla better - R35 GTR Not to put a damper on things, but I've heard the NSX rumor so many times over the years...it wouldn't surprise me if it was delayed once again. If it is available I would pay up to $80+K for it, IF it can outperform the GTR (which can be used all-season if necessary, has useable trunk and a back seat for duffle bags, stuff, etc. I wouldn't ever pay over $100K for a Japanese car.

Saw the commercial and saw the actual car at the North American Auto Show in Detroit. It was ok. DIdn't give me the feeling of wow gotta have it when I saw the NSX for the first time in 1990. The best cars at the show in my opinion were the S7, CLS, and the new 911. The R8 GT would have been if it didn't have the gross matte blue color and it had better wheels.

I'd pay 60k for it. I know for that mileage it's probably north of 70. If I had money to burn, (and if it was in yellow), I'd go for it lol. I know the specs and performance aren't up to par these days, but I've always wanted this car since HS, 10yrs ago, so one of these days I'll maybe be able to afford one! (Hopefully one less than 60k miles)

I was seriously considering buying an NSX back in 06, but couldn't justify paying that much for such an old car. I traded my old S in for a new S instead. In hindsight, I wish I had bought that NSX I saw for $35k, only 4k more than I paid for my new S. By this time, I'd have a paid off NSX and the ability to buy a nice AP1. Now, with what they are going for, the hindsight dream has been crushed. This hurts!!

i had a blue 2005 with black interior... that brown interior is yucky.... i sold mine with 20k miles on it for $63k or so in 2007... for some reason i bet they want $70k.... I would not pay anything.... they are not that fast (i drag raced mine to a 13.5 best run out of 4 runs... my evo was faster)...i think after having it floored for several miles it said 169 on the speedo.... (current car does that in about 22 seconds..lol)....
they still look nice but otherwise nothing exciting...i would only buy it if it were a bargain then try to flip it...

It is extremely shallow thinking - on top of that a car than run to 170 MPH is not slow.
I could have bought a much faster car than my S2000, but I just like the S2K. It makes me happy driving it.
Simple as that, and maybe the people who connect with the NSX do not care that Dodge Viper is faster for less money.

Yup, you're right. Been there, done that, having owned both a 97 NSX in the past and multiple S2000's, I personally know the S2000 is more fun to drive. I doubt many people will buy the new NSX for 6 figures. There are too many choices in that price range. Me personally, I will stick with my R8. I am more interested in the R35 GTR replacement in the future.
