I'm in your position, with 4 cars costing $115K. Over time I plan to upgrade them one at a time.
Currently I own:
Trooper
Sienna
Passat
S2000
I can see :
MDX $40K-$45K
GS350/530i/M35/RL (or such) $50K-$55K
Z06 or Boxster coupe

being as young as I am...I would say
keep your first pick
#2 The New M5
and #3 keep the S...you'll already have two new cars...throw more upgrades at it and then just figure you saved spending 30-40grand
Get an EMS, SC or Turbo, full exhaust, Rebuilt engine, rebuilt rear end..etc...even a new paint job if you wanted one...

I'd have to agree, there's really nothing in the S2000's price range that offers such a good package. But thats why we all bought one, right?
The other thing I noticed is there's not many cars in the S2000's price range that have the "wow" factor to it in terms of looks. Not that the S2000 looks exotic or draws a ton of attention, but I notice a lot of people checking out my car and talking to me about it where as with a Z06 I don't think you're going to get that attention. The Elise isn't too much more expensive and definitely has an "exotic" look to it ... but there's not many other cars without going up a lot in price that I can say that about unless you're counting new car models that haven't sold enough to become "common" yet.
You did say you want the car to be seen right?

I'd get the following:
1) Totyota Landcruiser
2) Acura CL type S, TL (newer one) or RL
3) Ultralite s2000. (lotus super 7 with s2k motor)
So, you still get to keep the honda... at least the heart of it.

$150K.....damn...I would invest in stock market first...
**makes 20% = $30000....(this can buy many kinds of car already)

OK, Me and my woman are in the same boat DINK. And here is our fleet
1. 2000 Ford Ranger 4x4 4.0L Pulls up to 5500lbs, and can go almost anywhere with the locking rear end. I think this was 24k ish new.
2. 2004 Passat TDI. We paid 29ish.
3. 2005 S2000. Pad 34k
We drive about 16k a year between the 3 cars and the truck get driven every day. And love our fleet of cars since we can do anything we want with them. Next purchase is a 220 Cobalt Boat with the 5.7 OSXi XDP, Captians Call Exaust, and some other cool goodies and still have some change to go around. Then we have it all except an Airplane and well I need my 4k options to be above water before I could even consider a old Cesena.
