I'm ten over the limit. Period. Highway driving. I'm type 2 ninety percent of the time unless they drop the limit on similar roads where I don't adjust my speed down.

There were a few studies in the 90s that showed that drivers want to go around 70 mph - if speed limits were raised from 55 there would be less crashes because there'd be less speed difference between cars, and if the speed limit was 80, people generally wouldn't speed at all.

Overall I'd label myself a 2.5 Type (voted for 3).

In a residential setting I obey the speed limit exactly.
In an urban setting I usually go around 5 over
In a suburban setting 10 over is pretty standard
On two lane highways 10 over is the norm
On interstate highways 10-13 over is the norm, though if there's a left lane train (several cars in a pack) hustling I'll usually join in for some 20-25 over action (if I'm on a long drive).

I used to be a type 3 but now I am a type 2. I don't see any reason to get a ticket just cruising down the freeway. I have realized that getting to places 20-30 minutes early is not worth the 500 dollar ticket every couple years. If I get a ticket, you better bet I was having a blast. I just hope they don't take my license.

Edit: I do not speed when there are pedestrians or bikes around. I live/work downtown and I am a pedestrian as often as I am a driver.

Type 2 mostly, Type 3 sometimes, and save the Type 4 driving for the track where Speed limit is the traction limit for the conditions.

I'm a type 3 with a good radar detector. I've been pulled over just a couple of times in my life, but never ticketed for speeding. No points.
