Default what is so cool about JDM

I see people who freak out about putting a jdm motor in their car. i'm a noob i dont' get it.

Perfect example. The DC2 (1994-2001) Integra. USDM vehicles have the round head lights. The Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicles have a much better looking front end.

so what about power-wise?

people get excited about putting jdm h22 into their accord? i don't see the hype

Another example. The Lexus GS300/400 aka the Toyota Aristo in Japan. Both USDM and JDM versions look alike outside, but the engines are totally different. USDM models come with naturally aspirated inline 6 and V8 engines respectively. The JDM vehicle comes with the 2JZGTE twin turbo inline 6 found in the Supra.


And there are vehicles that we just don't get ie: R32, R33 and R34 Skylines.

Well as you know, older Accords come with a pretty weak single cam engine or a lack luster V6. Why not put the JDM engine in and get a twin cam 2.2 VTEC engine
