What the new Nissan Z should have looked like...

That silver one is awesome. The others are nice but not as aggressive or modern.

Most of those wouldn't pass the bumper impact requirements. Plus aren't new pedestrian impact reqs. coming into play? (I've heard Honda use that excuse for the new Accord front end)

Not a fan, the original was done right, the proportions are awkward. Honestly, if you take away the funky lights and front bumper, the car looks damn near perfect. Photoshop an ap1 style big mouth bumper and take out the cutaways in the headlights and you got yourself a nice looking car.

They are nice renders of 3d models, but lack the thought and attention to detail that a trained car designer would lend to the design. It is what separates the amateurs and from the trained professionals from accd and ccs.

I highly doubt they will go with any of the design that is based off of the 240z retro look. As much as I like the way it looks, the design is way too close compare to the 240z. There would be no point of remaking the 240z with newer technology.
Its like saying mazda is gonna release a new RX-7 with a better rotary engine along with some minor exterior design tweaks. I would love that idea, but it will not happen.

its pretty much always been this way, you can look at the 5 years back and see that the civic/tsx/rsx/accord/tl/rl had similar styling.
meaning that nissan wont break out of their current look just for the z. the new z/maxima/gtr have a "nissan" look and i think thats what makers go for when designing a car.
