What is the most relaxing car you've driven?
When we drive in the S2000 or S4, my wife and I feel like the car is taunting us into driving aggressively.
My wife got a speeding ticket today.
So I got to thinking... maybe I've got this all wrong. Instead of being a fighter pilot, I should be a stealth bomber pilot....
Was thinking: is there a car out there that is so cushy and comfortable that I'll just think, "Ooooh, aaaah. I don't care how long the drive takes, because this is like sitting in my den at home listening to a great stereo."
There's $30k in my slush car fund. I can bump that up to $55k if the cushy car is AWD (would trade in the Toyo). Used is preferable... I like having someone else take the depreciation hit.
What are some potential options?
BMW seems like I'd still want to push the car for fun. Lexus may be a touch too numb... was thinking another Audi (maybe a newer A6) or a Benz. With the heinous depreciation of Mercedes, you can get S-classes for mid-thirties....

They took pretty big depreciation hit so they are pretty cheap now, and they aren't very sporty, but they are very relaxing.

The most comfortable car I've ever driven, a Lincoln Mark VIII. No late-model vehicles are available though; they were last produced in 1998-ish.
