I currently have a 96 Volvo 850R that has been tested at 310HP and 315 lbs/torque (Several engine mods). So as you can see I like speed. I was looking at the new Volvo R that just came out two weeks ago, but I'm also serisouly looking at a BMW 5 series. What is the recommened 5 series year and model between 2000-2002 that's worth looking at. How reliable are they? And what is the 0-60. Thanx

ummmmm the new s60R does look sweet.....but the 5 serious the they have are the M5 and the 540i that are the movers i guess they are pretty reliable

The 540 6speed is probably what your are looking for and i think the 0-60 is around 5.8ish... and if you wanna spend more money there is always the M5 for like 64-70 grand used. Thats a 0-60 time of closer to 5.0 flat. But the base onf the s60R is like 38 grand. Dont forget to look at the m3 and the s4

 

What about the 0-60 speeds on the 528/530? Are the 5 series tunable to get faster speeds? IE Flashing the ECU

 

528/530 aren't really that fast.
