The Fit is a much more complete car but substantially more expensive. The Aveo is often sold in the 8 - 9k range but it not seem a Fit is available for less than 13K. A car that costs 60% more should be more complete.
No argument there. However, the original statement to which I took exception was:

People claim the Honda Fit is fun to drive. And yet the Fit is heavier and has a smaller engine than the Aveo.

Go figure.
It had nothing to do with price. It had everything to do with comparing engine size and weight and being fun to drive.

L4s also have the most advanced crankshaft technology of any engine anywhere...

I think we need a rule that no one is allowed to post any thread about or with reference to the "Fit" anymore. Honestly, who cares about the fit? And if you do care about please talk about it somewhere else. I know this is car talk, but we need some some standards. You can add yaris, aveo, etc to that list...fine with me.

We talk about Ferrari's that 99.9% of us will never drive, much less buy. Why not the Fit, since there are quite a few on here that have bought them? It's a great little car in comparison to what else is out there.

For the record, the Aveo is my dream car.

yeah, a couple of threads make sense, but after 2 threads how much more is there really to say about the fit. Ferrari, porsche, etc are much more interesting regardless of chance of ownership, IMO.

More interesting, perhaps, but not really applicable. I prefer to discuss cars I have a shot at owning. A Ferrari isn't one of them, unless some of my shares suddenly go through the roof.

I went balls out on one in south america after drinking too much Ron Medellin. In the narrow slow streets it feels fast enough. The hand brake is in the right postions for powerslides. Overall a nice little car, but not ment for our roads.
