Well, I know that one of the older Ferrari's, one of the original GT models, hit something like $7 million at auction, but I have no way of proving this so it doesn't count

The desire of the GTO is astronomical. 40 were built in total with 37 having the Series I bodywork shown above. Such low numbers in combination with a huge racing success justifies the current price tag of three million dollars.

There are many cars valued over $3Million.
Two years ago at the Monterey Sports Car Auction an original Cobra Daytona went for $4.4Million.
I got some great pictures of that one!

in regards to production cars over three million there is not that much, yes the old cars can get up there, just watch the barret jackson auction. the porsche carrera GT if ever produced would be up there. but I dont know of much else. oh yess the Bugotti (spelling ??) is coming out with a 1000hp car that may be a couple mil, I guess I will only get one then..........
I have a 90 civic si sitting around if someone wants to pay $3,000,000.00 for it....

The Carerra GT is going to cost $400,000-$500,000. And it will be produced.
No modern car will be anywhere near $3M, only collectors' classics. The first one that sprung to my mind is the 250GTO as well.

I believe a used McLaren goes for about 1.3 million these days. They were 1 million when new.
However a McLaren F1 LM, of which only six were produced should bring considerably more.
There are other million dollar cars like Mercedes CLK-GTR, Toyota GT-1, and Porsche 911 GT1 that were sold to the public in limited numbers like the Ford GT-40, because of the Le Mans regulations.
New Bugatti BTW won't cost more than a million. It will be more like $800,000.
And the Carrera GT will be priced more closely to the Lamborghini Murcielago.
