i dont mind them at all, I just turn the car on, pop the trunk and sacrifice about 45 seconds of my life removing them.
i know there are exceptions, and that there are individuals like yourself who would not mind having to get in and out of his/her car to remove/reattach the top, but i'm just saying in general, people find it a hassle and an inconvience. i'm sure if you do a survey of what percentage of car owners use their sunroof, convertible top, and targa/t-top on a regular basis, the outcome of the order of frequency from high to low would most likely be 1) sunroof, 2) convertible top, and 3) targa/t-top. i know these results are not official, but from a convience standpoint, one would anticipate such a result.

But I guess the fundamental problem is whatever one person likes, another person doesnt. We'll never know popular opinion! Cant make everyone happy!
true, but i'm sure multibillion dollar car companies do some sort of market research before they make their decisions.

That the world would rather have the Aztek than t-tops?

Maybe they need bigger sample sizes.

T-tops and targas offer much better security than ragtops. They are also quieter, cheaper, and (presumeably) stiffer than a softtop. If they weren't extinct right now in the ~$30k Japanese sports car price class, I would have bought one instead of a full-on convertible. Getting out and removing the roof sections is not an issue for me.

The Smart Roadster has an option for a T-top like roof. Comes in two pieces and can be stowed in the trunk.
