Interesting thread indeed, but it is necessary. My sig says it all, lost a great member.
The internet is like rush hour traffic, when everyone is in their little isolated pod they all think they're 400lbs of alpha male muscle, and will post accordingly, but when you strip away the safety shell it all comes out.
In any case, I wish some people would read what they write before they post, it can come off offensive and it can trigger the wrong kind of argument.
Can't blame the mods though, they want to keep the discussion open and cater to their clients, but some of these folks need to go or be warned.

it's the internet, let's not take it too seriously.

That's the biggie there. The rules were set long before Saki and I joined S2Ki - we just enforce what we're told to enforce. We also don't spend every minute on S2Ki, so use the report button. Some people are a little too sensitive to things and get really upset over a few words typed on a website. Keep in mind that a lot of people have huge Internet muscles, but can't walk the talk without a computer.

So, lighten up people. The things you're getting upset about have mostly not been outside S2Ki rules. When someone gets your manties in a bundle, grow a friggin' backbone.....or think of a clever retort - that always throws those muscular typists.

It's not things like the Fit threads (you can always just not read them, you know?), though we do seem to have reached the point where they're not funny anymore. But the people who don't read carefully, or who have no ability to see satire, and who then react with personal insults - those people are worse than the threads they don't like.

(Added note - this only applies when the thread is actually meant as humor.)

The problems (in my opinion) don't have much to do with the TOPICS at all. It's just people acting like 9 yr olds (to borrow a specific age from above poster) who've just discovered dirty words for genitalia and need to show off using them.

Personal attacks were always around, but they're getting more common AND they're getting more predictable, nastier, and frankly boring.

And people are losing their sense of humor, at least a bunch of people are. This isn't a forum designed to establish whose car is best or else. It's a forum for entertainment, centered around cars.

I don't blame the mods. This isn't a problem from lack of patrolling.

All in all though, it's still a great place to come to for discussions and for information. It's just that it could be better.

Well, personal attacks aren't tolerated by me - you want to call a car garbage, fine, but attack another user, especially a paid member, and you can get banned.

Wow -- just wow you dumbshit -- they are the same ****ing car, only one is a wagon.
I will leave anonymous who said this. However, I think it is statements such as this one in which you are refering to.

In my eyes completely unwarranted. [/QUOTE]
I was at the receiving end of this post.

He should be banned for assuming I'd drive a wagon. Ew...

I'm a paid member. Ban the guy who said that to me. Check my thread about buying the S60R to see it firsthand.
