would you guys choose it over the infiniti fx?? i'm thinking of getting a luxu quasi suv in the near future, and as of now leaning towards either the fx or the touareg. i like the fx for the obvious reason of performance and fun to drive, but the styling and quality of workmanship both inside and out of the touareg really impress me. since i don't plan on driving my suv like a sportscar, i'm thinking i'd be happier with the touareg in the long run. what do you guys think??

The VW can tow a lot more if that's an issue. Basically if you ever have a thought of towing get the VW. The VW is a lot better off road car (IMO). If you are thinking about going off road at all the VW is better (IMO).

If both are going to be used for street and only street use, I think the FX because it weighs less is a better performer.

Street use only I'd get an FX.

Towing or off road = no FX.

That's true. I drove my friends FX45. It was very fast in a straight line and it was able to carry a lot of speed into a turn. It did a good job in the twisties but I was a little uncomfortable with it's high CG.

Touareg is pretty sweet, but make sure you have a VW dealer with a really, really good service department or you will be miserable.

I really like the VW, but I think they want too much money for it, at least here in Canada, not sure of the MSRP in the US

That is one really expensive "bug". As for the FX, it too, is a really expensive gussied up Morano. Well, that' my take on it.

I would opt for the VW Touraeg over the FX. It gives you the flexibiilty of a Luxury SUV with the towing of a Sequoia with the trunk space of a RX330. A little overpriced but you may have some luck dealing since MY05 is around the corner. The FX has a very small trunk with the seats up.

Personally, I still find the MDX to be best combination of a rugged looking jacked up luxury station wagon.

touareg is a better all around suv than the fx and the quality of the interior will be far superior than the fx...also, although vw reliability isnt the best, i think it will hold up better than the fx

mindcore: i like your barbie jeep. i got my neice one of those a couple weeks ago, except hers has 2 seats and can go up to 5mph!!
