My collection dates back to the mid to late 70's, from about 1982 on I have every single C&D, R&T, Motor Trend, and various Automobile Magazine, European Car, Hot Rod Magazine, MM&FF, CAR etc etc.
It kills me but I keep my 1000's in milk crates in my basement as their is simply no more room in the our spare closet for them.
I remember when I was about 8 years old (NO JOKE, however I may have been mostly looking the the photos) reading my 1st car magazine and marveling at the Triumph TR series, Alfa Romeo GTV and Ferrari Dino. Sick as it might sound I gravitated toward European cars from day one.
One day my two sons will hopefully love reading through them as I can show them every single road test of every single car I have had.
I only wish my father did this for me ! So guys keep them, don't throw them out and pass on this sick "car crazy" passion to you children.

I have a few hundred C/D, MT, and R&T issues from the past 10 years or so. They are all arranged on a bookshelf in my game room, so what I do is close my eyes and select one at random each time before I gotta sit on the John.

If it s a really good issue, I will keep it. Otherwise I tear out the articles I want, and chuck the rest. Bad issues get tossed entirely. After you've moved a couple of times, you reevaluate what is worth keeping and what isn't. Besides, I berely have time to read the new mags, so I don't really see the point in keeping too many old ones.

I used to save them, had up to like 7 years. MAgs such as C&D, Motor trend and Road an d Track. I subscribedd to Sport Compact car back when it was worth something. I had almost every issues since the day they started. I just chuck my mags now or take them to work for other people to read.

I never throw out car magazines. They sit in a huge stack on shelve(s) in my room
I've probably lost a couple of issues here and there, or people borrowed them and never gave them back, but I'll never throw one out myself.

looks like a bunch of us are in the same boat!! I have 1988-present of MT, C&D and R&T... I think I also have the last 5-6 years worth of Auto-weeks....
I generally cut out any decent articles / pictures out of any other magazines that i get (sport compact car, grass roots, cycle world, vw trends, etc....) then take them to my work and let the lunch room have them.
I have a 3 ring binder that probably has 400 pages of cutouts from different magazines from the past 5 years. It is mostly stupid stuff when i do go and look at what is in the binder.... o well...better than have 25 more boxes of mag's in my basement.

I tear 'em up and keep the articles I'm interested in -- tech stuff, auto and racing history, and almost anything about S2000s or Ferraris.
