Default What daily driver for under $18k?

I want to get rid of the RX300 that I am driving right now and replace it with something else. Preferably a smaller sedan to keep insurance down. I want to spend abot $18k at the max and it needs to have less than 60k miles. I have been looking at a few Lexus IS300s and am waiting on several emails to be replied. Do you guys have any other ideas?

I'd go for a Corolla XRS over a IS300 after these gas hikes. Good gas mileage, easy ride, nice looking.

I'd say a lightly used RSX-S would be a choice at that price.

The RSX has crossed my mind, but I really don't think it was be as practical for me. As for the Corolla, it would be a good gas saver, but I want something that's kind of entry level luxury.

I bought my '97 M3 sedan for about $18 w/54k miles a couple years ago. They're obviously selling for less now. I haven't needed to drop a penny into the car, but I've done some basic preventive maintenance on her. Gas milage has been about 25mpg while I've owned it. I've been very happy with this car.

Gas will never return to cheap prices, never. Your best bet is a used hybrid. IF you still have a nice car to drive in the garage at home, then that is your best bet.

I did just that, although a while ago. I traded in my s2k and got a loaded accord exv6 navi. The deal I got was insane and HAD to go for it. I got a 23,000 trade in (in 2003) and got the car for 25700.

Anyways, the accord is a great car and the 4cyls are great with gas mileage. In my area, you can get a stripper accord for 14k
