My suspicion is that the Elise won't be quite as good as 1800lbs / 180hp. Hard to say without it officially being released yet, but my opinion is that the Boxster S will be a slightly better value.

I'd go with the Boxster S. I know there's a lot Boxster bashing among S2k folks, and it's was over produced, and.... personally, I've always liked the looks and if it wasn't overpriced I'd probably have one. The Z06 is the best value of the lot and a great car; just not for me. I see Vettes at every corner here in MI; maybe that's part of it. And, that ugly truck - man, I just saw one on the road last weekend .... puke. The Lotus is really neat but it's to over-styled for me; maybe if I drove one I'd change my mind.. so make that a maybe.
