I only use the paddles probably 2% of the time; the main issue I have is they are fixed to the wheel and not the column. Plus when in sport mode the car will let you take it to redline without using the paddles, so there is no absolute need for them except to have fun or downshift to pass on the highway without doing the 'hit the gas, wait a second, pass' as with most automatics.

When I am moving on to the next vehicle, I usually try to think, what type of engine/drivetrain configuration do I want next? I really really want a 2005-2007 S4. Just something about V8 + AWD has me drooling to drive one. But, lately I find myself wanting to get back into an S, but one that is boosted.

The key word is tuned. Stock for stock, is the S4 faster?

They should be right around the same. But off the line S4 would have advantage due to 4wd, unless vs. 335xi
also, MTM supercharger for the S4 would bring it to around 450hp.

& how much does the supercharger cost? Tune for the 335 is anywhere between $550-$1000.

The S4 might not even be faster than 335 stock, it weighs almost 4000 lbs. Also even RWD 335's get off the line great, people with automatic 335's on street tires are getting 1.7-1.8 60 foot times at the drag strip. I doubt an AWD S4 will get a better time than that.

I got my Juicebox 4 new for 400 shipped. The car puts down 340 rwhp which is about 390 at the crank. With a $500 bolt on meth kit and a $200 bolt on downpipe the car can make about 420 at the rear wheels which is 483 crank hp and for less than a grand.
