What To Buy After The S is Sold?
Current situation is as follows:
I'm waiting on my S to get repaired from the body shop and get the more efficient fmic core put on (thanks, as always, goes to inline pro for the core).
In the next month I will have hopefully sold it. (Check my sig for the FS link for info on the car, etc.)
After selling, I'm going to be getting a k5-k7 gsxr 600 or 750, which should leave me with ~20k on the table after T,T&T is done.
I'm looking for suggestions on a car I can turbo or that is turbo stock for that amount of $$$
-Here's the criteria: nothing earlier than 1990
-None of this "Oh well the turbo kit only costs 5k and it's almost complete.." crap like people do with turbo kits for the S, since people say "oh it only costs 4k for the kit and 1500 for the EMS + injectors" when in reality everyone knows a good tuned turbo kit costs ~10-11k.
-NO fwd cars. I hate FWD with a passion, it is wrong-wheel drive...bleh, torque steer, wheel hop, etc. It's just bad.
-Power wise, I'm looking for something that has the REAL WORLD POTENTIAL to make 300-350whp within that 19-20k window (meaning car + mods will be in 20k window). It doesn't HAVE to hit 300whp, just something close to it.
-Something that doesn't look like a total POS i.e. a 1990 slaughtered 240sx with sr20 swap and rusted panels/hubcaps for wheels.
Also, if you know of anyone with a car FS that sounds like it meets my criteria, please let me know.
If this post is too vague, please specify what you'd like more information on instead of senseless flaming.
Thanks guys.

shouldn't there be some used WRXs floating around out there...the ones leased/driven by soccer moms...? You should be able to easily upgrade turbos and build your own STi...

^ I work for a shop that specializes in STIs. Yes, they are a bitch to mod. I would go with something from the mid-90s with good potential. The FD Rx7, TT 300ZX, and 3000GT VR4 are great choices. They can all be had for under $12,000 in good shape. Also, they all have potential for 500whp. An FD Rx7 with a 3076 or GT35r ball bearing turbo is almost unbeatable. They only weigh 2,730lbs and can make 500+whp. My friend's 300ZX made 576whp on only 19psi. We turned the boost up to 28psi and are now making over 700whp on race gas. The 3000GT would be my last choice because they are just so heavy. Also, have you thought about a DSM? They are even cheaper, 300hp is no problem, and they have AWD. They are extremely easy to turn into 11 second cars. There are just so many choices, if you would narrow your selection down a little bit I could help you more.

Forget what you think about FWD and test drive a VW Mk5 GTI ! This one could change your mind . Saw the show Speed Test Drive and even Tommy Kendall said he loved it and it made me wonder what he was talking about . I tried it and TK did not lie it is a great car for the money.

Why are you selling your car? If it's for the twitchiness, then why would you opt for a bike? Could you imagine what would have happened to you and your girl if you were on a bike instead?
And why not just return to stock instead of repairing to sell?
If it's because the turbo S2k isn't fast enough... well it's already proved to be more than a handful at that hp in your weather conditions, why would you want MORE?
