The funny thing is that none of these seem like a natural progression from a 944 and S2000. So unless you no longer want a light, small car, I would consider another s2k(lease buyback probably won't be the best deal).

But yeah, priorities change over time... Still have the Accord?

I don't know how the reliabilty was on the 944, but I wouldn't want to own any of these other cars out of warranty either...

I just bought a GTI for a DD. Let me know if you have any specific questions about it coming from the perspective of an S2000 owner.

None of the others mentioned could be considered even close to "light weight".

RX-8? Not "quick" by modern standards, but not a slouch by S2000/944 standards.

Without knowing your budget, the Evo X fits your requirements - light, quick, paddle shifters, carries 4.

E36 or E46 M3s might also fit, but with potentially higher ownership costs.

Those are mutually exclusive. An EVO X is sure the hell not "light" or flickable. Possibly the new Evora.

:wtf: How can you call a 3517 lb car light???

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/mitsubishi...8945/specs.html

Weights practically as much as a(also not light) G37 at 3581 lbs.

Even this car from 1964 weighs less than those two:
