Test drive a Lotus Elise. After that every other steering system will feel like crap...

My Boxster S felt like an SUV after driving an Elise...

I've lurked these boards for a while now. I know he likes BMW. However, just because he made a mistake about something that can be easily mixed up doesn't mean you need to be like that to him. I consider myself someone who likes Bimmers, you'll probably call me a "fanboi", and yet I do the same mistake every now and then. It happens. It's even more confusing with the fact that in 2000, there was a 328i. Just like in 2006, there was a 325i. It's easy to make a mistake, and just because he made one you don't need to be an ass about it.
You are right. I do not need to be an ass, but please. When the answer to every question is always "BMW," somebody *has* to say something. If he was sitting in the room with me, I'd say the same kind of thing at some point, regardless of the degree of our friendship. One cannot expect to go through life espousing the superiority of one particular thing and denying the existence of any other option without having somebody at some point calling them on it. And I think it's only fair to call someone on it once in a while. He has good input on a variety of subjects, so obviously this isn't some retard kid that we need to treat with kid gloves. I think I am as permitted to share my opinion on his attitude as he is to share his opinions on BMW.

Back on topic, regarding what factors make one car feel "responsive" and "precise" vs. "merely a quick-ratio steering rack," it's tires. A shorter, stiffer sidewall will make any car more responsive to steering input. A quick-ratio steering rack in a big dually truck with a 70 series tire is still going to feel sluggish, even if it might be more responsive than a slower steering rack.

And if one normally drives a family sedan, whatever sports car they drive next will become the new "best steering car EVAR!!1!" regardless of how it actually ranks in its class.

Evo IX. Better steering feel, precision, and quickness than almost any other car I've driven. Including many P-cars.

Although, the Lotus Elise/Exige is even better.
